An asset bundle component schedule should explain equipment, training, maintenance and other elements included in one purchase. A single invoice total does not establish that every component receives the same accounting treatment. Give the accountant the agreement and delivery details before the full amount is posted to one account.

Identify what was bought

Keep the quotation, accepted contract, invoice and relevant breakdown. Record equipment specifications, installation work, training dates and the period covered by maintenance or support.

Separate the supplier’s marketing description from actual deliverables. A line labelled package may need more detail before a reviewer can understand it.

Gather allocation evidence

Ask the supplier for a genuine component breakdown where the existing documents are insufficient. Preserve any separate prices or agreed allocation, without inventing a split simply to achieve a preferred asset value.

The accountant should assess the applicable reporting framework and facts. This schedule does not decide that all training is capitalised or all installation is expensed.

Example: support extends beyond delivery

Equipment arrives this month, training follows later and maintenance covers a future period. Record the different milestones and any outstanding performance. Paying the total at once does not mean every component was delivered or consumed on payment day.

Retain the reviewed posting

Link the approved component schedule to the asset register and other relevant accounting schedules. Keep tax and GST review separate where required. Reconcile any later credit or scope change to the original bundle so a revised support charge does not silently alter the historical equipment record.
