A new activity SSIC review starts with an accurate description of what the company now does. Give the secretary concrete commercial facts before asking for an update to the company’s recorded activity. A marketing slogan or a competitor’s code is a poor substitute for explaining the actual work.

Describe the change in ordinary language
List the goods or services supplied, customers served and how the company earns its fees. Separate work already started from a possible future expansion. Record when the activity began and who can confirm the facts.
Include a sample service description, relevant contract scope or invoice description with unnecessary customer information removed. Explain whether the company acts as principal, intermediary or service provider where that distinction affects the description.
Distinguish activity from permissions
An activity description does not establish that the business has every licence or approval it needs. Ask the responsible adviser to check separate permissions where relevant. Do not tell staff that an SSIC update alone authorises regulated work.
Have the secretary compare the facts against the current classification and company record. Keep the proposed description visible for director review rather than allowing an administrator to choose the closest sounding label unaided.
Example: consultancy develops a product line
The company previously supplied advice and now also sells physical goods. Provide the actual supply arrangements and relative business context. Calling everything consultancy could conceal a meaningful change; listing a speculative activity could also misdescribe the business.
Retain the decision and follow-up
Keep the reviewed description, supporting facts and any filing outcome. Note separately which bank, insurer or other provider may need its own notification. ACRA’s managing-company guidance explains the wider obligation to maintain company information; this pack supports an accurate factual review.
